صدر مملکت ڈاکٹر عارف علوی نے کنٹرول لائن پر بھارتی بمباری اور مقبوضہ کشمیر میں مظالم پر بھارت کی مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ اقوام متحدہ بھارتی مظالم کا نوٹس لے آزادی کی جدوجہد میں کشمیریوں نے بہت قربانیاں دی ہیں، کشمیری اپنے آپ کو اکیلا نہ سمجھیں، پاکستان کشمیر کے ساتھ کھڑا ہے اور رہے گا۔

اقوام متحدہ بھارتی مظالم کا نوٹس لے، آزادی کی جدوجہد میں کشمیریوں نے بہت قربانیاں دی ہیں۔ڈاکٹر عارف علوی کا کہنا تھا آزاد کشمیر حکومت نے کرونا کی وبا سے نمٹنے کے لیے اچھے اقدامات کیے، رمضان کے حوالے سے حکومت کی علما کے ساتھ مشاورت ہوئی، اس مشاورتی عمل میں آزاد کشمیر کی قیادت بھی شامل تھی، رمضان المبارک مسلمانوں کے لیے خصوصی اہمیت کا حامل مہینہ ہے، ایمان، اتحاد، تنظیم کے اصول پر عمل کر کے ہی عظیم قوم بنا جا سکتا ہے۔انھوں نے کہا کہ دنیا کے مختلف شہروں میں لاک ڈان کی نوعیت مختلف ہے، کرونا وائرس پر قابو پانے کے لیے احتیاطی تدابیر پر عمل درآمد ضروری ہے۔

تاہم بیرون ممالک پھنسے پاکستانیوں کی جانب سے مسلسل شکایت کی جا رہی ہے کہ ان سے وطن واپسی کیلئے اضافی کرایہ طلب کیا جا رہا ہے۔ اس تمام صورتحال میں قومی ائیرلائن پی آئی اے کے سربراہ ائیر مارشل ارشد ملک نے معاملے کو نوٹس لیا ہے۔ پی آئی اے کے سی ای او نے حکم جاری کیا ہے کہ بیرون ممالک پھنسے پاکستانیوں کیلئے کرایوں میں فوری کمی کی جائے۔

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Communications has approved the recruitment of 500 patrol officers in the motorway police. The Ministry of Communications has added the quota in provincial allotted quota positions instead of separate quotas on gross posts for women, disabled and minorities.

According to the Daily World Motorway Police have not made any provision for open merit for women and minorities. Under the Federal Public Service Commission rules, 10 percent of the posts are reserved for women and two percent for the disabled and minorities. 179 posts of motorway police will be allotted to the employees of the department and 321 posts will be recruited under open merit and quota system. All posts on the motorway police will be recruited under the Federal Public Service Commission.

UN chief asks world nations to support WHO as corona virus cases cross 2 M mark

NEW YORK – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has asked world nations to support the World Health Organization instead of criticizing its role to effectively defeat the coronavirus.

In a statement in New York, Guterres said it was not the time to reduce the resources for the operations of the World Health Organization or any other humanitarian organization in the fight against the virus.

The Secretary General, while defending the role of WHO, urged international community to work together in fight against corona epidemic.

Meanwhile the number of people infected from corona virus across the world has surpassed two million while at least 130,000 other died so far.   

The death toll in the United States has crossed 27,000 while number of infected people has jumped 619,716. 

Champions League final: Uefa plans for final on 29 August

football's governing European body will meet on 23 April for more discussions about how to complete a campaign which has been disrupted by corona virus.

It is likely one decision will be to agree that leagues could finish early, although only with Uefa's approval.

But the idea is still to finish the season as a whole at the end of August, with all outstanding games played.

That would mean the Champions League final taking place in Istanbul on 29 August, with the Europa League final in Gdansk three days earlier.

PCB not to fire employees or cut their salaries

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani said on Tuesday that the Board was not considering to fire any of its employee or cut their salaries in the wake of partial lockdown, placed due to coronavirus pandemic in the country.

“Our top most priority is our employers and players and they are important to us as we are nothing without them and we ca not run our cricket system and allied activities,” he said here

“The PCB is in process of re-structuring and we will continue making changes in our organisational setup whenever a change is required to enforce in a specific department,” he added.

In a statement, the commander of US Space Command General John Raymond termed it an example of the threats the US faces in space.

The move comes as officials have said that space will increasingly become an important domain for warfare with the US and other countries such as Russia and China stepping up their military postures in low Earth orbit and near the moon.

The test was of Russia’s new Nudol anti-satellite missile system, analysts projected, launching from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome about 800 km (497 miles) north of Moscow.

The US and China have carried out similar anti-satellite tests.
